Heart Foundation Visit

Over the last few weeks we have had Brogan from the heart foundation working with us. She has taught us about the 4 main food groups and the importance of a healthy, balanced diet.

In her session on Monday she taught us how to read food labels. We know:

  • You should look at the per 100g column on the label.
                • To be healthy the food needs to have less than 10g of fat, less than 10g of sugar, more than 5g of fibre and less than 400mg of salt.
We were shocked at how much sugar is in common drinks. We know that water and milk are the best choices for healthy teeth and a healthy body.

We look forward to putting our new learning into practice  when we visit the supermarket on the 13th of April.
