Buddy Reading!

We had a lovely time reading with our buddies in Room 13 on Friday. Room 8 went to the library early to choose a book that we knew our buddy would enjoy and that we could confidently read.
Our focus when reading today was to make our words flow smoothly and to add expression, so our buddy would enjoy the story.

Latrell, Gordon and Markell even read a story aloud to us all.

We finished off our time together by drinking milk under the oak tree and a fun game of 'Cat and Mouse'.

Nexo Knights!

What a fantastic surprise the Senior and Middle School kids at BMPS had last week! Each student go their very own Nexo Knight lego set! 

These were gifted to us from Eat My Lunch. Eat My Lunch is an AMAZING company who provide our school and schools all over NZ, with lunches for those who don't have any. 

It is their 2nd birthday, but we were the lucky ones that got the presents. How awesome is that?!

In Room 8 we got to test our literacy skills by carefully reading and following the instructions. We worked cooperatively when we got a bit stuck on the tricky bits and had a whole lot of fun sharing and playing with our creations.

Thank you Eat My Lunch for helping to keep kid's tummies full so they can focus on their learning. We appreciate you! 

MISS ROOT'S SPECIAL SWEETIE'S

Miss Root is a bad dentist  that loves to pretend to be a normal dentist but her true identity is she is the demon dentist and she take's out all of the kid's teeth. Do you know what she does? She gives lollies to the kid's to make their teeth rot and she tricks them by saying they are sugar free. 

That's why the whole class decided to make are very own special sweeties.

We are also learning about how persuasive writing is used in advertising, so we made some ads about our special sweeties.
