Wero

What an incredible day for some lucky senior school students at BMPS!

The team at Field of Dreams invited us to the Vector Wero Whitewater Park in Manukau to experience the Tamariki River.

After watching a safety video and getting fitted into our wetsuit, shoes, helmet and lifejacket - we were ready to go!

                             

 We were shown how to sit in the boat, how to hold the paddle and what to do if we fell into the water. Then we were off!

Towards the end of the session there was an opportunity to jump into the rapids and float down the river. Woohoo!!

Room 8, I was so proud of you for challenging yourselves, for conquering your fears and for supporting each other. What an amazing experience! Thank you Wero and field of Dreams!

Cricket

Room 8 are enjoying cricket this term. We look forward to our sessions with Coach Lily each week. We have been learning techniques to improve out batting, bowling and fielding skills.

We start the day with swimming....

Then head back to school for cricket...

Do some creative writing (Today we were learning how similes can add interest to our writing)... 

Then electives (here is the R8 electives creating code to progamme computers).

    Room 8's first swimming lesson!

Room 8 had their first swimming  lesson and it turned out to be BRILLIANT!!! 

 Here's  two buddies having fun together in the pool.Look at the smiles on their faces don't they look so cute together?

 WOW!!! Check out the two friends. Look at their faces! Don't they just look adorable together. They look like they are having a lot of fun.

WOW!!! Look at the waves splashing. We had to keep or legs straight and together.

Here we are trying to hold our breath under water.Guess the top 3 people who stayed down the longest? Of  course it had to be

Hanging with the BREAKERS!!

First of all this was ages ago but we wanted to share it with you. This day was really fun! The whole school walked to the rec center in Otara. Getting to see our school vs the Breakers was awesome but obviously the Breakers won they were impossible to beat.

They invited everyone to play a game. There was a breakers player who had to shoot a 3-pointer and if we thought that he will miss then we had to run to left and shout boo!! The people who thought that he would get it, in had to run to right and cheer him on.....WOOHOO!!

Autographs. We had ten minutes to get autographs from the players but sadly I only got one autograph. It was an exciting time for all of us and we wish to do it again!
